Five Minute Friday: Home

GO

Security, comfort, love, laughter- all things that come to mind right away. Home is where so much takes place- the people we really are, shows through best- and hopefully it's a place of refuge from the struggles of the world.

Reality is it is not all these things all the time, but we desire it to be this way. We long for more joy and fun memories...maybe what we are ultimately longing for is our eternal home. This is where we truly long to be.

I am so thankful to live in a nice place to call home. I am thankful for the Lord's blessings of family and the memories we make living under the same roof. I am thankful for the husband I have, who works so hard to provide a home for us. He is so good to us. :)

I pray today that each of our homes are filled with the Spirit and we choose unity and peace. I pray we would be overflowing with love and gratitude for the things we have and put aside thinking on the things we don't.

STOP

Geesh, this five minute thing goes by in a blink of an eye. I love it though-  it gets your mind going in a new direction. :)

Blessings in your home this weekened!!

Five Minute Friday: Ordinary

GO...

This is a word I identify with. I am an ordinary gal living a life the best I can on a day to day basis. My life has had extra-ordinary things interwoven throughout it, but it is mostly ordinary. I have had mountian top experiences and have walked my share of suffering as well.

As a stay at home mom and homeschooler another word that fits with this in my life has been mundane. However, the Lord continually shows me amazing things in the midst of the ordinary and the mundane. So as I serve an extra ordinary God, my life can be anything but ordinary at times and all but mundane.

Even as I type this blog today, my youngest has a house full of friends over and they are listening to music, playing, and laughing together. And though it is an ordinary thing for a bunch of 12 years olds to do together- I sit here full of joy and thankfulness and it makes this moment feel anything but ordinary.

So as we live on and a lot of our days seem to be ordinary- we can rest assure that as we serve the God Almighty, King of the Universe- we can experience so much more than ordinary in our lives on a daily basis. Looking forward to all He has planned for us, for our future- both this side of heaven and that side. Just open up His Word and experience something greater than ordinary any moment of the day.

STOP.
